Canadian Bearings Ltd. Receives Owens Corning Supplier of the Year Award

The Toronto Plant recently hosted a Canadian MRO Supplier Review meeting. Representatives from Canadian Bearings, Commercial Solutions, Acklands Grainger, Chevron Texaco, Unifirst, Rexel Westburne, Arroyo Process, Fastenal, International Vending Management and Safety Today participated in the two day event along with the Canadian MRO Team members.

For the 6th consecutive year in a row – Canadian Bearings Ltd and Commercial Solutions Inc were voted “Supplier of the Year” delivering 22% in documented cost savings. Superior customer service by outside and insides sales contacts is a big reason why they won the award again.

Toronto Supply Chain and Sourcing Leader John Sutaroski commented that, “Canadian Bearings and their Edmonton partner, Commercial Solutions, consistently show OC Canada that they share our Safety, Waste and Talent stands. Their agenda of continuous improvement and engagement with the plants is impressive.”

Canadian Bearings Ltd. Receives Supplier of the Year Award

For the fifth straight year, Canadian Bearings Ltd. has been awarded the Owens Corning Supplier of the Year Award. The award was presented at Owens Corning's 2006 Canadian Review meeting held in Guelph, Ontario. Owens Corning's Canadian MRO Team Leader, Donna Robinson, announced that "For the fifth straight year Canadian Bearings have raised the bar and exceeded their contractual obligations by delivering cost savings to our plants in excess of 26%." She also added, "not only do they consistently deliver the results - they have taken customer service to a new level.

Canadian Bearings has provided seamless implementation of a custom supply chain solution that involved taking over management of all plant procurement processes in their Guelph plant location in May of this year.

Sergio Restagno, CB's National Account Manager responsible for Owens Corning commented, "I'm really proud of our sales teams in the Scarborough, LaPrarie, London, and Kitchener branches for their continued efforts and focus on the documentation of value and delivery of solutions that promote improved productivity at the Owens Corning plants they service." Canadian Bearings main facilities move on March 14, 2005

After many successful years of operation out of our Courtneypark Drive location, Canadian Bearings is proud to have successfully moved to an expanded facility. Healthy volume growth and the advantages of consolidating our Central Warehouse, Belting, Retail Store, and Head Office under one roof prompted this relocation. We are confident that our move will translate into better service for our customers.

Canadian Bearings Ltd. Acquires Central Hydraulics and Service

Canadian Bearings is pleased to announce the acquisition of Central Hydraulics and Service of Guelph ON. As part of the CB team, they will enhance CB's ability to deliver technical solutions in fluid power to its Southern Ontario clients. “We are building on related investments including the 1998 Windsor ON acquisition of Jopar Fluid Power and the additional recruitment of several fluid power trained technical representatives in the region,” said Don Latham, President of Canadian Bearings. “In 2005, Central Hydraulics and CB customers in the Guelph/Cambridge/Kitchener area will be able to reduce costs through the access of a much broader spectrum of products and solutions as provided by this new partnership."

For Central Hydraulics, the marriage will provide an enhanced ability to promote the capabilities of its high calibre and newly renovated shop over a broader geography. Murray Millson and Gary Reilly, the Central Hydraulics founders, will remain as part of the CB/Central team. Murray will continue to lead his team and participate in integration plans.

CB LaPrairie/Kirkland named Owens Corning Valleyfield MRO Supplier of the Year

Canadian Bearings' LaPrairie/Kirkland branch was named 'MRO Supplier of the Year' by Owens Corning's Valleyfield plant. The award recognizes CB LaPrairie's 'Outstanding Service and Continued Support' over the past year.

George Lenko, Branch Manager for CB LaPrairie, was presented with the award during Valleyfield's Supplier Day on October 14th.

Valleyfield's Supplier Day was an opportunity for Owens Corning sourcing leaders to share information with their key suppliers about the direction and challenges the plant is facing in today's market place. They communicated their future goals and together, CB and Owens Corning, plan to investigate opportunities that will contribute to the mutual success of both companies.

Canadian Bearings Ltd. Wins Abitibi-Consolidated Supplier Award

Abitibi-Consolidated Inc. recently awarded Canadian Bearings Ltd., a Supplier Award for 2003. Canadian Bearings received a Gold award in the Services and Maintenance Category for all Abitibi-Consolidated operations.

This is the second consecutive year of awards for Canadian Bearings, having received Supplier of the Year and the Gold Award for the same category in 2002.

This award is given in appreciation of Canadian Bearing's continuing efforts in building a partnership with Abitibi-Consolidated, and offering excellence in the area of Services and Maintenance.
