Procurement Agent (Hybrid)

Fulltime, Permanent

ROLE PURPOSE

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Agent is responsible for purchasing products for the fulfillment of customer orders and ensuring proper inventory levels. The Procurement Agent assists in reduction of ‘no move’ inventory and supports the Customer Service team in providing reliable service to customers.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Utilize purchasing reports to monitor inventory quantities and purchase relevant products when required
  • Accurately prepare and provide purchase orders to suppliers to optimize customer inventory availability.
  • Create and place purchase orders for large monthly stock orders to capitalize on available price rebates, as available and as required.
  • Update purchase orders, using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, regarding changes to deliveries in a timely fashion, based on vendor confirmations.
  • Provide vendor pricing and product availability to CSRs on which they are not able to acquire it directly from the vendor.
  • Follow-up with suppliers to confirm and ensure timely delivery of goods, as required.
  • Assist in the return of no-moving inventory to vendors as part of the annual return process.
  • Assist in the reallocation of slow/no-moving inventory between appropriate CB locations to increase efficient stocking and product availability for customers.
  • Collaborate with internal partners (i.e. DCs and Accounts Payable) to inquire and follow-up on missing items to minimize delays in product delivery and payment.
  • Complete region-specific tasks and operations as required (i.e., training of new employees in Procurement and Central Warehouse).

  • Proficiency in English is required, bilingual in French is an asset
  • Prior purchasing experience is an asset
  • College diploma with a focus on purchasing or customer service; or equivalent working experience
  • High-school diploma (or equivalent); post-secondary degree or diploma preferred
  • Prior experience in purchasing and/or inventory management preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
